Therapies We Offer in Kennesaw
Addiction Therapy in Cobb County
Therapy is one of the most effective tools used to treat drug and alcohol addiction. The methods employed in therapy address issues with addiction and other co-occurring issues, contributing to total mental wellness to people who have completed treatment and are in recovery.
At North Georgia Recovery Center, we offer multiple forms of therapy that can be tailored to the needs of each of our patients. In individual therapy, patients can confidentially discuss their concerns one-on-one with a licensed therapist.
Group therapy and family therapy sessions allow patients to discuss their struggles in a community setting. Alternative methods of therapy provide a way to work through issues beyond traditional types of therapy sessions.
We offer all of these therapy types at our state-of-the-art facility, and will create an individualized treatment plan that is specific to your goals for recovery.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy is recommended for most of our patients. It will likely be a part of your treatment and after care plan. This form of therapy gives you a chance to work one-on-one with one of our licensed therapists and discuss your concerns in a private and confidential platform. In individual therapy, you will receive in-depth analysis and specialized feedback. Individual therapy, because it is tailored to you, is also more flexible to change and adaptation as you progress.

Group Therapy
Group therapy is a way to connect with other people in recovery. In a group therapy setting, you can discuss your struggles and accomplishments with other people who are working through rehabilitation.
We offer group therapy during the completion of our partial hospitalization program and intensive outpatient program. During this time, you can work with other people who are in the same program as you.
We also offer an after care group therapy program. We recommend that people who have completed their treatment attend group therapy sessions twice a week as they continue their recovery. Group therapy after treatment can provide an essential support system during one of the most difficult parts of rehabilitation.

Family and Couples Therapy
The North Georgia Recovery Center team believes in creating a positive, community environment at our facility and extending this approach into treatment. Working through your recovery with your family can provide asupport system as you complete treatment, and can help you strengthen your communication and relationship building skills. The things you learn during family therapy can be utilized well after you complete treatment and can guide you for the rest of your life.
Other Therapy Methods
In addition to traditional therapy methods, we offer alternative therapy methods such as art therapy. Although traditional methods such as talk therapy are very beneficial for people who are struggling with drug and alcohol addiction, some patients also benefit from one of these alternative methods of therapy. We are happy to discuss other therapy methods that you have tried in the past or are interested in and feel that you would benefit from. Our individualized approach to treatment allows us to adapt our strategies to your needs.
